Christy Mathewson was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Sammy Strang had 3 base hits at South End Grounds as the
New York Giants beat the Boston Beaneaters in 10 innings 5 to 4.

The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Finally, New York pulled the game out in
the 10th inning.  George Davis lined a base-hit.  Charlie Hickman next to the
plate and he reached on an error.  Strang then ripped a one-base hit scoring
the run.  New York finished with 12 hits in the victory.  

Mathewson(3-0) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Bob Lawson(0-2)
absorbed the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning allowing 2 hits and no
walks.
