Jake Thielman closed the door on Philadelphia-NL and Mike Donlin had 5 hits
and 4 RBI as the Brooklyn Dodgers bested the Philadelphia-NL Phillies 12 to 9
at Washington Park.

Donlin helped send the fans home happy.  He doubled bringing in a run in the
1st inning, laced a base-hit in the 3rd inning, laced a one-base hit in the
4th inning, stroked a single plating a run in the 6th inning and smacked a
base-hit which was good for two runs in the 7th inning.  Thielman was perfect
in the ninth giving him his 1st save on the season.  

The win was credited to George Winter(2-0) who went 3 and 2/3 innings allowing
2 runs. Barney Pelty(1-2) was the loser.  He got hit hard, allowing 15 hits
and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
