WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Steve Evans robbed Bobby Wallace of an extra base hit.

Third baseman Buck Herzog had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the Brooklyn Dodgers
outscored the Philadelphia-AL Athletics in 12 innings 8 to 7.

Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Brooklyn came out
the victor in the 12th inning. Casey Stengel doubled. After an out was
recorded, Johnny Kling came up and he drew a walk. Herzog then stroked a
base-hit giving Brooklyn the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.
Despite losing, Philadelphia-AL out-hit Brooklyn 19 to 13.

Tom Seaton(2-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Joe Benz(0-1) was
the loser in relief. He surrendered 4 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.

It was another victory for Brooklyn at Washington Park. Now their winning
streak stands at 6 games.
