At Polo Grounds the Pittsburgh Pirates outscored the New York-NL Giants in 12
innings 4 to 1.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings.  Pittsburgh came out the victor
in the 12th inning.  Joe Birmingham led off and started the attack as he
reached on an error.  Otto Knabe was next and he drew a walk.  Sam Crawford
then laced a base-hit to load the bases.  Jake Daubert was up next and he
delivered a one-base hit scoring two teammates.  Daubert swiped second base.
Mike Mowrey added to the uprising and hit a deep fly scoring the final run of
the inning.  Pittsburgh had only 6 hits for the game.  

Vean Gregg(4-5) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Frank
Lange(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 1
inning.
