In a close game it was the Cleveland Naps 9, the St. Louis Browns 7 at
Sportsman's Park.

Cleveland jumped on top to stay in the top of the 2nd inning when they tallied
3 runs on 2 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Joe Birmingham who
quieted the crowd when he doubled bringing in two baserunners.  Cleveland won
despite being out-hit by St. Louis 16 hits to 10.  

The victory went to Luke Glavenich(1-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.
Fred Blanding recorded his 1st save.  Earl Hamilton(2-2) was the losing
pitcher.  Cleveland knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 8 runs in 7 and
2/3 innings.
