George McQuillan completed the game without help from the bullpen and center
fielder Joe Kelly had 4 hits and scored 3 times as the seemingly unstoppable
Pittsburgh Pirates bested the Cincinnati Reds 9 to 6 at Redland Field.

In the 5th inning Pittsburgh scored 4 runs when they came up with 3 base hits.
They ended up being the winning runs. A wild and woolly affair, this game
saw the lead change 5 times.

McQuillan(3-2) finished the game allowing 6 runs in the victory. Red Ames(1-1)
suffered the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14 hits and 2 walks in 8
innings.

The winning ways continue for Pittsburgh. They now have a record of 8-2 in
recent days. With the loss Cincinnati now has a record of 8-8.
