on top in the 10th inning. After two outs Start initiated the scoring spurt
when he ripped a base-hit. Paul Hines stepped up next and he stroked a
single. Emil Gross then laced a base-hit resulting in a run. Tommy Bond
then let one slip out of his hand for a wild pitch scoring the final run of
the inning. Providence had 14 hits for the afternoon.
