Center fielder Fred Lewis homered and had 4 RBI as the Cincinnati Red
Stockings defeated the Louisville Colonels 12 to 3 at League Park.

It was a good day for Cincinnati thanks to Lewis.  He lined a base-hit in the
3rd inning, banged out a single plating a run in the 5th inning and smacked a
three-run homer in the 6th inning.  Louisville was out-hit by Cincinnati, 14
hits to 6.  

Larry McKeon(3-2) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. The loss
was charged to Tom Sullivan(0-3).  He was hit hard and gave up 14 hits and 4
walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
