Shadow Pyle tossed a complete game as the Chicago White Stockings defeated the
Indianapolis Hoosiers by a score of 8 to 6 at Athletic Park.

Chicago tallied 3 runs in the 2nd inning with the help of 3 hits.  The key
at-bat was by Pyle who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he
doubled scoring two baserunners.  Chicago finished with 11 hits in the
victory.  

Pyle(1-0) lasted until the end allowing 6 runs for the win. Egyptian
Healy(1-2) was the loser.  He allowed 8 runs and 11 hits in 9 innings.
