Right fielder Hugh Nicol had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Red
Stockings defeated the Louisville Colonels by the score of 9 to 7 at League
Park.

Jesse Duryea(4-1) struggled but was good enough to win with the help of some
fine defensive plays.  He gave up 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Cincinnati totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.  

Duryea got relief help from Lee Viau who gained credit for his 1st save.  John
Ewing(2-2) absorbed the loss.  Cincinnati scored big getting 9 runs off him
in 7 innings.  

Wth the win Cincinnati now has a record of 7-8.  Louisville has a record of
5-10 after the loss.
