Third baseman Harry Lord launched 2 homeruns as the Chicago White Sox beat the
Detroit Tigers in 11 innings by a score of 7 to 6.

Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings.  Chicago came out the
victor in the 11th inning.  After two outs Lord clubbed a solo home run
resulting in a mighty exciting win for Chicago and the 15,227 home town fans
in attendance.  Chicago had 13 hits for the afternoon while Detroit had 7.

The win went to Pop-Boy Smith(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. The losing
pitcher was Joe Lake(1-1) in relief.  He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 4 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
