Johnny Sain had a complete game as the seemingly unstoppable Boston Red Sox
outscored the Cincinnati Reds 5 to 2.
Cincinnati lost it in the 7th inning when Boston did all their damage as they
scored 5 runs on 4 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Al Zarilla
who deflated the crowd as he laced a one-base hit bringing home two
baserunners. Neither team was able to score until the 7th inning.
The victory was credited to Sain(8-1) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
Satchel Paige(1-3) ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an
inning giving up 4 hits and 1 walk.
For Boston, the victory kept their winning streak on the march.
