Bubba Harris shut Washington down as the St. Louis Cardinals outscored the
Washington Nationals 11 to 9.

St. Louis tallied 6 runs in the 3rd inning with the help of 5 hits. The
crucial at-bat was provided by Eddie Yost who made the crowd come alive when
he lined a one-base hit scoring two baserunners. This was a game of many
highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in
all.

Larry Jansen(4-4) allowed 8 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Jansen got relief help from Harris who gained credit for his 8th save. Joe
Coleman(2-3) took the loss. He saw his ERA jump from 4.59 to 6.11 as gave up
7 runs in 2 innings.

Jeff Heath rocketed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI but it wasn't enough for
Washington.
