TEAM RISP- Monumentals: 5 for 13 Nationals: 3 for 14

Ed Smith allowed Bill Henderson to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Capitol Grounds where the streaking Baltimore Monumentals beat the
Washington Nationals 6 to 5.

Baltimore had 3 runs cross the plate in the 5th inning when they came up with
3 base hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Washington threatened in
the 9th but their rally came up short.

Smith(4-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 5 runs. Bill
Wise(2-4) was given the loss. He allowed 14 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
