Center fielder Tris Speaker had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Boston Red Sox
topped the New York Highlanders in 11 innings by a score of 6 to 4 at Hilltop
Park.

Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings.  Boston won it in the
11th inning.  After two outs Harry Lord began the Boston spurt when he
tripled.  Speaker followed next and he delivered a one-base hit scoring a
run.  Speaker took second on a stolen base.  Doc Gessler was up next and he
delivered a single bringing in another run.  Jake Stahl came to the plate and
tripled scoring the final run of the inning.  Boston had 14 hits for the
afternoon.  

The win went to Frank Arellanes(4-0) who allowed 4 runs in 10 and 1/3 innings.
Eddie Cicotte recorded his 1st save.  Lew Brockett(0-2) took the loss.  He
allowed 13 hits and 4 walks in 10 and 2/3 innings.  

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Arellanes, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
