George Kell hit 3 doubles as the Cleveland Indians bested the Pittsburgh
Pirates 4 to 2 at Cleveland Stadium.

Cleveland jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring a single
run on 2 base hits.  Dave Philley lined a base-hit.  Jim Busby stepped into
the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Kell then doubled
scoring the run.  Pittsburgh made it exciting in the 9th, but they were
unable to push the needed runs across.  

The winning pitcher was Mickey McDermott(5-1) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings.
Billy Pierce(2-5) took the loss.  He pitched 7 innings allowing 7 hits and 3
walks.
