Ed Stein pitched a complete game as the Brooklyn Grooms beat the St. Louis
Browns in 11 innings by a score of 9 to 8.

The score was tied at 8 after nine.  Brooklyn won the hard fought contest in
the 11th inning.  Bill Joyce delivered a base-hit.  After an out was
recorded, Dave Foutz came up and he laced a base-knock, and an error was also
committed, scoring the run.  Brooklyn had 10 hits for the afternoon.

Stein(2-2), allowing 8 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Frank
Dwyer(2-3) was the loser in relief.  He was pinned with the loss despite not
allowing an earned run in his 2 and 2/3 innings of work.
