Warren Fitzgerald went 9 solid innings at Eclipse Park as the Louisville
Colonels beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4 to 1.

Fitzgerald(1-0) looked very much in control throughout the day.  He gave up
just 5 hits and no walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 3.50.  Louisville
had a total of 8 hits for the game.  

The loss was charged to Duke Esper(1-1).  'Fitzgerald took our guys to school'
Harry Wright said. 'Too bad he doesn't pitch for us - it would make my job a
whole lot easier!'
