Catcher Duke Farrell had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Brickyard Kennedy went the
distance as the red-hot Brooklyn Superbas bested the Boston Beaneaters 5 to 4
at South End Grounds.

Brooklyn had the winning rally in the top of the 8th inning with 2 runs on 3
base hits.  Dan McGann led off the inning for Brooklyn when he reached on an
error.  Tom Daly came to the plate and stroked a single.  Daly took second on
the throw.  Farrell then smacked a single knocking in a run.  Kennedy came up
and he doubled scoring the final run of the inning.  Brooklyn rapped out 11
hits for the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Kennedy(6-0) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Kid
Nichols(1-4) was tagged with the loss.  'I had a little blister on my index
finger before the game, but I thought it was nothing.' Kennedy said.  'I was
lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'
