First baseman Bob Unglaub had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Shibe Park where the
Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Athletics in 12 innings by the
score of 5 to 3.

The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Washington came out on
top in the 12th inning.  After two were out Otis Clymer started the attack as
he delivered a base-hit.  Clymer was safe at second on a stolen base.  Wid
Conroy then was walked intentionally.  Clyde Milan followed and he doubled
knocking home two runners.  Washington finished with 11 hits while
Philadelphia ended up with 8.  

The winning pitcher was Dolly Gray(1-2) who allowed no runs in 4 and 1/3
innings. Chief Bender(1-1) was the loser.  He gave up 11 hits and 4 walks in
12 innings.
