WEB GEMS- Bot 4th: Rube Oldring robbed Walter Johnson of an extra base hit.

Walter Johnson had a complete game and center fielder Clyde Milan had 2 base
hits and 2 RBI at National Park where the Washington Nationals beat the
Philadelphia Athletics by the score of 7 to 6.

Johnson(3-2) pitched a fine game. He went 9 innings surrendering 9 hits and 1
walk. Philadelphia threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Eddie Plank(3-1) ended up with the loss in relief. It was a tough loss for
him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 inning of work.

Jimmy McAleer was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of
games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can
relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'
