The Brooklyn Dodgers nipped the Chicago-NL Cubs 4 to 3 at Ebbets Field in a
hard fought contest.

In the 5th inning Brooklyn scored 2 runs when they came up with 3 base hits.
Harry Williams led off the inning for Brooklyn when he hit a single.  Eddie
Collins stepped up to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Gavvy
Cravath then doubled knocking in a run.  Buck Herzog was up next and he
smacked a single scoring the final run of the inning.  Chicago-NL had a
chance in the 9th but they came up short.  

Bullet Joe Bush(2-2) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Eppa Rixey
gained credit for his 4th save.  Eddie Plank(0-4) took the loss.
