Clem Labine(2-2) got credit for the win at Ebbets Field as the Brooklyn
Dodgers shutout the Cleveland Indians in 10 innings 1 to 0.

The score was knotted at zero after nine innings.  Brooklyn won the game in
the 10th inning.  Billy Bruton stroked a single.  Jim Gilliam stepped up to
the plate and he doubled giving Brooklyn the win and sending the home town
fans into a frenzy.  Brooklyn had only 3 hits for the game.  

Morrie Martin(0-3) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He was unable to retire
a batter allowing 2 hits and no walks. With this win, Brooklyn has a 16-23
