Billy Martin cracked a homer and had 4 RBI at Wrigely Field where the Kansas
City Athletics beat the Chicago-NL Cubs by the score of 13 to 7.

Martin enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He hit a single which brought home a
run in the 2nd inning, clubbed a three-run home run in the 3rd inning and
delivered a one-base hit in the 5th inning.  Kansas City managed 14 hits in
their victory.  

The victory was credited to Frank Lary(4-4) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. Bill Wight(4-3) ended up with the loss.  He was knocked around by
Kansas City, allowing 8 hits and 2 walks in 3 innings.  

'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Jim
Murphy, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'
