WEB GEMS- Bot 5th: Tom York robbed Jack Remsen of a Homerun!

Catcher Tom Barlow had 3 base hits and 4 RBI and Jim Britt went the distance
as the Brooklyn Atlantics defeated the Baltimore C Canaries by the score of
19 to 10 at Union Grounds.

Barlow made sure the Brooklyn fans enjoyed themselves. He ripped a single
scoring two baserunners in the 1st inning, lashed a one-base hit in the 3rd
inning and lined a base-hit plating a run in the 7th inning. Brooklyn lit up
the scoreboard in the 1st inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits and
the 4th inning when they had 8 runs on 6 hits. Baltimore C scored in 5
different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.

The victory went to Britt(1-0) who went the distance allowing 10 runs. Candy
Cummings(3-5) was given the loss. Brooklyn scored big getting 19 runs off
him in 8 innings.
