Erve Beck blasted a homerun and had 4 RBI and Clarence Currie had a complete
game as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Boston Beaneaters by a score of 8 to
5 at Palace Of The Fans.

Cincinnati took the lead for good in the 3rd inning scoring a single run
utilizing 2 base hits.  That scoring would be all that was needed.
Cincinnati rapped out 14 hits for the afternoon.  

The victory went to Currie(1-1) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. Vic
Willis(1-4) was given the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 14 hits and 4
walks in 8 innings.  

Cincinnati now has a record of 7-10.  Boston can't seem to snap out of their
recent 'funk'.  Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple
weeks.
