WEB GEMS- Bot 4th: John Hummel robbed Willie Keeler of a base hit.

One run was the difference at Exposition Park as the blistering-hot Pittsburgh
Pirates defeated the Washington Nationals in 11 innings 3 to 2.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Pittsburgh
prevailed in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Weldon Henley
doubled. Willie Keeler stepped up next and he reached on an error. Jimmy
Sebring then worked the squeeze play to perfection giving Pittsburgh the win
and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Pittsburgh rapped out 8 hits
for the afternoon.

Henley(3-3) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Charlie Case(0-1)
was tagged with the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not
allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work.
