Bob Groom pitched a complete game as the streaking Washington Nationals bested
the Philadelphia Athletics 5 to 4 at Shibe Park.

The game started off with Washington taking the lead in the first when they
tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. Washington finished with 10 hits in the victory.

Groom(2-0) finished the game allowing 4 runs in the victory. Chief Bender(3-1)
was charged with the loss. He gave up 5 runs and 10 hits in 9 innings.

Washington continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 8 games and
counting. Washington's manager was in a talkative mood after the ballgame.
'Fellows, I don't know what to tell you. our guys are just playing lights out
lately. Everything and everybody is just really hitting on all cylinders. I
know it can't last forever - but that isn't going to stop us from trying!'
