At Griffith Stadium the Washington Nationals were battered 8 to 1 by the
Chicago White Sox.

Frank Lange(2-1) gave Chicago a solid outing.  He went 6 innings and surrended
up 5 hits and 3 walks.  Chicago banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.  

Lange got help from Doc White who earned his 3rd save.  Bob Groom(1-3) was the
losing pitcher.  He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 2/3
innings.
