Catcher Roy Campanella hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI at Municipal
Stadium as the Cleveland Indians beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the count of
6 to 4.

Pittsburgh was unable to recover after Cleveland went ahead in the 5th inning
when they came up with 2 runs on 2 hits.  The key offensive moment was
provided by Campanella who came through for the home fans when he lifted one
out of the park for a two run home run.  Cleveland rapped out 10 hits for the
afternoon.  

Murry Dickson(6-3) allowed 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Jim Hearn preserved the game for Dickson, recording his his 15th
save.  The losing pitcher was Eddie Lopat(3-5).  He surrendered 8 hits and 5
walks in 7 innings.
