Jake Stenzel had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Bill Hoffer blanked Philadelphia in a
very well-pitched complete game as the Baltimore Orioles beat the
Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 7 to 0.
Stenzel was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He ripped a one-base hit in the 4th
inning, doubled in the 5th inning, doubled bringing home two baserunners in
the 7th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 9th inning. Baltimore
managed 16 hits in their victory.
Hoffer(2-3) went the distance for the shutout. Jack Taylor(2-2) absorbed the
loss. He surrendered 7 runs and 16 hits in 9 innings.
