Pink Hawley completed the game without help from the bullpen at League Park as
the Cincinnati Reds came back dramatically to top the Louisville Colonels by
the score of 5 to 4.

Cincinnati scored the winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing
3 base hits.  Harry Steinfeldt led off and got things going when he tripled.
Heinie Peitz next to the plate and he reached on an error which brought home
a run.  Farmer Vaughn then delivered a single.  Algie McBride came up and he
doubled resulting in a mighty exciting win for Cincinnati and the 9,406 home
town fans in attendance.  Cincinnati had a total of 12 hits for the game.

The win went to Hawley(3-1) who allowed 4 runs in the game. Red Ehret(1-2)
took the loss.  'We just wouldn't give up,' McBride said. 'Much of the credit
goes to our fans - they were with us the whole way.'
