Jake Beckley had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Palace Of The Fans as the Cincinnati Reds
beat the floundering Boston Beaneaters in 11 innings 5 to 4.

The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings.  Cincinnati ended up winning it
in the 11th inning.  Heinie Peitz led off the inning for Cincinnati when he
doubled.  Tommy Corcoran followed, but he was set down on strikes.  After
another out, John Dobbs then hit a single.  Beckley was up next and he
slapped a base-hit resulting in a run.  Beckley took second on the throw.
Sam Crawford came up to bat and was walked intentionally to load the bases.
Erve Beck did his part to keep things going and lined a single resulting in
an exciting win for Cincinnati and a raucous post-game celebration by the
home town fans.  Overall Cincinnati out-hit Boston 15 to 5.  

The win went to Buck Hooker(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Togie
Pittinger(3-3) was tagged with the loss.  He was unable to control the
Cincinnati offense and allowed 15 hits and 3 walks in 10 and 2/3 innings.
