Jack Powell was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the New York-NL Giants topped the Philadelphia-AL Athletics
by a score of 8 to 4 at Polo Grounds.

New York-NL jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 3rd inning when they
tallied 2 runs on 1 hit.  The key offensive moment was provided by Ty Cobb
who excited the crowd when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home
run.  New York-NL totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.  

Powell(3-1) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Art Fromme(2-4)
was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 11 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Wth the win New York-NL now has a record of 19-11.  With the loss, the
Philadelphia-AL ballclub's record is 20-14.
