In a startling finish the red-hot Philadelphia-NL Phillies staged a comeback
then held on to win over the Washington Nationals by a score of 13 to 10 at
Griffith Stadium.

Cass Michaels had a big day with his bat. He clubbed a three-run home run in
the 2nd inning, lined a base-hit in the 6th inning and lined a single in the
9th inning. Philadelphia-NL rapped out 15 hits for the afternoon.

The win went to Frank Hiller(1-2) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The loss
was charged to Connie Marrero(1-1) in relief. Philadelphia-NL continued on
their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 8 games and counting.
'Everything seems to be going right for us' said Mark McGonigle. 'I've got
the easiest job in the league right now!'
