Herm Wehmeier completed the game without help from the bullpen as the New
York-AL Yankees defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers by the score of 7 to 1 at
Ebbets Field.

New York-AL brought 3 runs across the plate in the top of the 2nd inning when
they had 3 base hits.  That early scoring held up.  Brooklyn had 9 hits in
the game while New York-AL had 6, but New York-AL had the more timely hits.

Wehmeier(5-0), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Sam
Jones(3-5) was the losing pitcher.  He couldn't find the strike zone and
allowed 7 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
