Charlie Ferguson completed the game without help from the bullpen as the
Philadelphia Quakers won at Recreation Park in dramatic fashion over the
Boston Beaneaters, the final score, 4 to 3.

The game was decided in the 9th inning.  Jack Manning drew a walk.  After an
out was recorded, Lynch swiped second base.  After another out, Jim Fogarty
then slapped a single making Philadelphia the victor and beginning a joyous
home town celebration.  Philadelphia finished with 9 hits in the victory.

Ferguson(3-0) allowed 3 runs on the game. Charlie Buffinton(1-2) absorbed the
loss.  He gave up 4 runs and 9 hits in 8 and 2/3 innings.
