Left fielder Hank Simon had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Steve Toole went the
distance at Ridgewood Park as the Brooklyn Gladiators beat the Philadelphia
Athletics 8 to 7.

Toole(4-1) gave Brooklyn a solid outing.  He went 9 innings surrendering 9
hits and 8 walks.  Brooklyn totaled 16 hits on the afternoon.  

Ed Green(1-2) ended up with the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 16 hits and
5 walks in 8 innings.  The Brooklyn ballclub's record now stands at 5-10.
