Cunningham(2-1) labored throughout the game but hung around to record a
victory. He gave up 8 runs in 9 innings. This was the kind of game that
many fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times.

Les German(1-2) was the loser. By surrending 9 runs in 8 innings his ERA
jumped from 4.94 to 5.60. 'Wow. That's about all I can think to say.' said
John McCloskey following the victory. 'If ever a team needed a win, it was
us.'
