TEAM RISP- Beaneaters: 5 for 17 Reds: 6 for 15

Fred Tenney had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and John Malarkey was able to finish
what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Boston
Beaneaters defeated the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings by the score of 9 to 8
at Palace Of The Fans.

The score was tied at 7 after nine. Boston won the hard fought contest in the
10th inning. Billy Lush led off and started the rally when he stroked a
one-base hit. Tenney stepped up to the plate and he doubled scoring a single
run. Two outs later Ernie Courtney came up and he slapped a base-hit scoring
the final run of the inning. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the
lead change 6 times.

The victory went to Malarkey(1-4) who went the distance allowing 8 runs. The
losing pitcher was Archie Stimmel(1-2). He allowed 15 hits and 4 walks in 9
and 2/3 innings.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Malarkey, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
