Sam Crawford hit 3 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates topped the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics by a score of 7 to 4 at Forbes
Field.

Philadelphia-AL was unable to climb back into it after Pittsburgh went ahead
for good in the bottom of the 5th inning plating 2 runs on 3 base hits.  Otto
Knabe led off and got things going when he reached on an error.  After an out
was recorded, Crawford stepped up to the plate and he doubled plating a run.
Jay Kirke then tripled scoring the final run of the inning.  Pittsburgh
rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.  

The victory went to Vean Gregg(2-5) who went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs. Lefty
Tyler preserved the game for Gregg, recording his his 1st save.  Buck
O'Brien(3-2) was the loser.  He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.

Wth the win Pittsburgh now has a record of 10-17.  With the loss,
Philadelphia-AL has a record of 6-4 lately, 11-8 overall.
