Adonis Terry delivered 9 solid innings as the Brooklyn Grays defeated the
Cincinnati Red Stockings by the score of 4 to 1 at League Park.

Brooklyn jumped on top to stay in the 3rd inning scoring a single run.  Ed
Swartwood stroked a single.  Pete Hotaling came to the plate and reached on
an error.  Bill Mountjoy then let loose a wild pitch.  John Cassidy came up
and he hit a deep fly scoring the run.  That was all the runs Terry(3-2)
needed.  Both teams finished the game with 4 hits.  

Mountjoy(2-1) was the loser.  He gave up only 4 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
