Jack Taylor allowed Arthur Irwin to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and Ed Delahanty had 5 hits and 2 RBI at Union Park where the Philadelphia
Phillies beat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 17 to 9.

Delahanty enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He tripled in the 1st inning,
clubbed a solo home run in the 4th inning, slapped a one-base hit in the 6th
inning, ripped a base-hit in the 8th inning and lined a base-hit knocking in
a run in the 9th inning.  Philadelphia bats were very productive in the 8th
inning with 4 runs on 4 hits.  The Philadelphia offense was great, scoring in
7 of the 9 innings.  

The win went to Taylor(2-3) who allowed 9 runs in the game. Tony Mullane(2-4)
was charged with the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 14 hits and 4 walks
in 7 and 1/3 innings.
