At Polo Grounds the New York-NL Giants were battered 9 to 2 by the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics.

Sammy Strang led the offense for Philadelphia-AL.  He launched a three-run
homer in the 5th inning and banged out a single plating two runs in the 7th
inning.  Overall Philadelphia-AL out-hit New York-NL 15 to 7.  

The win went to Doc White(5-0) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings. Vic
Willis(1-3) ended up with the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits
and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
