Jimmy Slagle had 3 base hits and Addie Joss went 9 solid innings as the St.

Huntington Ave Grnds.

St. Louis-AL took the lead for good in the top of the 4th inning scoring a
single run on 2 base hits. Bobby Wallace drew a walk. After another out,
Spike Shannon was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Harry Bemis then

the run. St. Louis-AL managed 9 hits in their victory.

For Joss(3-2) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Rube Waddell(3-3) was tagged

Tim Singer was very impressed with his pitcher, Joss, 'He had unusually good
pitch placement this afternoon. It was almost unfair - but a beautiful game
to watch from where I sat'
