Rube Vickers completed the game without help from the bullpen as the
Chicago-NL Cubs beat the Boston-NL Braves by a score of 7 to 6.

Chicago-NL scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning.  John Hummel
lined a single.  Two outs later Vickers stepped in and he hit a single.  Bob
Ganley then lashed a single scoring the run.  Chicago-NL totaled 10 hits on
the afternoon.  

The win went to Vickers(3-2) who allowed 6 runs in the game. Harley Young(0-1)
was hit with the loss in relief.  He allowed 3 hits and no walks in 1 inning.
