Tillie Shafer went deep and had 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds beat the
Pittsburgh Pirates in 10 innings by a score of 6 to 5.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings.  Cincinnati won the
game in the 10th inning.  Ray Schalk delivered a single.  Harry Hooper came
next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  After another out, Gus Williams then
slapped a one-base hit giving Cincinnati the win much to the delight of the
home town crowd.  It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5
times.  

The win was credited to Charlie Smith(2-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Carl Zamloch(0-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He allowed 1 run and 2
hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.  

Wth the win Cincinnati now has a record of 11-9.  Pittsburgh has a record of
11-9 after the loss.
