Jackie Jensen had 3 base hits as the Brooklyn Dodgers rallied impressively to
win in dramatic style over Philadelphia-AL Athletics, 5 to 4.

Brooklyn had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 3 runs on 3
hits. Stan Lopata led off and got things going when he drew a walk. Sam
Mele struck out, unable to help the rally. Bob Skinner then drew a walk.
Frank Bolling got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Al Rosen
came to the plate and stroked a single scoring a run. Stan Musial extended
the rally and laced a base-hit driving in one more runner. Jensen stepped up
to the plate and he delivered a one-base hit scoring the final run of the
inning. Brooklyn had 11 hits overall, while Philadelphia-AL had 5.

The win was credited to Curt Simmons(3-2) who went 8 innings allowing 4 runs.
Jim Hughes earned his 6th save. Bob G Miller(0-1) took the loss in relief.

'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Jensen said. 'If you just
keep trying good things can happen!'
