TEAM RISP- Beaneaters: 5 for 11 White Stockings: 4 for 12

Shortstop Ned Williamson smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and John Clarkson
had a complete game at West Side Park where the sizzling Chicago White
Stockings beat the Boston Beaneaters by the score of 8 to 4.

The Chicago fans enjoyed the offense provided by Williamson. He laced a
one-base hit in the 2nd inning, blasted a solo shot in the 4th inning and
cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 5th inning. Chicago
finished with 12 hits in the victory.

The winning pitcher was Clarkson(3-2) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Bill
Stemmyer(1-1) was the loser. Chicago extended their winning streak to 7
games. Cap Anson was in a great frame of mind in the clubhouse after the
game, 'Everybody's contributing now. Timely hitting, some slick fielding
plays and good pitching when we need it. Man, when that's happening, this
sure is an easy job!'
