In a thriller the Louisville Colonels staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 9 to 6 at Exposition
Park.

Louisville came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring
4 runners on 3 hits. The highlight belonged to Farmer Weaver who quieted the
home crowd when he tripled scoring two baserunners. The score went
back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.

Scott Stratton(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and
allowing 6 runs. Fritz Clausen recorded the save, his 1st. Frank Killen(2-1)
was the loser. He was touched for 12 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.

Al Buckenberger was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us this afternoon'
